Union County Health Department

Health Educator I (Drug Overdose Prevention)


Job Responsibilities: Serve as the Drug Overdose Prevention Coordinator for Union County. Plan and develop population and evidence-based interventions to prevent drug overdoses for County residents. Design the composition of program and any public health promotion related to the program. Coordinate and evaluate the program to ensure compliance with standards and recommend changes to services, materials, and/or operations. Develop promotional materials and messages for projects, events, and campaigns. Research effective, evidence-based projects. Write and assesses grants, manage multiple grants, conduct financial and programmatic tracking and reporting, communicate with funding sources, complete documentation, and oversee/monitor all related projects/activities. Research new funding opportunities. Serve as a resource to the community and other organizations/agencies. Participate on or convene committees, work events, and special projects. Prepare reports, correspondence, newsletters, media, and other educational materials for the public. Answer general public health-related inquiries and maintain regular contact with partners.

Qualifications: Must be detail oriented, organized, possess strong oral and written communication skills, excellent time management skills, and strong customer service skills. A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Education, Science, or a related health field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience is required. Experience with Microsoft Office is essential. Must be able to occasionally lift, push, and carry objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted and up to 50 pounds with assistance A valid Ohio Driver's License, valid auto liability insurance, the ability to maintain auto liability insurance, and the ability to maintain insurability under the County's vehicle insurance policy necessary. Experience working with GMIS 2.0 software beneficial.


University Job Posting:

Assistant Professor of Health Promotion and Education

University of Cincinnati


The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Health Promotion and Education. This position will begin August, 2020. Position responsibilities include: (a) maintaining an active research agenda including publications, presentations, supervising student research, grant writing, and pursuit of external funding; (b) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (on campus and online); (c) assisting with program-related activities; and (d) engaging in university, professional, and community service. Successful candidates will have a broad understanding of social and behavioral health methodologies and expertise in research addressing social determinants of health issues.

Minimum Qualifications

Earned Doctorate (or projected completion by August 15, 2020) in Health Education or a related field (e.g., Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Behavior).Clear and active research agenda, including publications, presentations, and research experience consistent with a potential for external funding.The ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels (both online and on campus).The ability to advise and mentor graduate students. Candidates who are eligible to obtain professional credentials such as CHES or CPH preferred.


Medical Center Job Posting:

RN Community Health Educator

Monmouth Medical Center, New Jersey


Promotes the Community health Education department by providing health education, screenings, wellness programs and other nonclinical and clinical services to people throughout the whole continuum of life.

Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure: BA/BS/BSN degree preferred. Bachelors degree in a related clinical field and previous experience working with general populations in a community outreach or inpatient setting. Ability to use Excel, Word and Audio Visual equipment. Ability to speak in front of diverse population groups and health and wellness.
